Have you ever wondered what the Buffyverse would look like after the Buffy and Angel finalés? Do you have an idea that would further the Buffyverse in a new show? Then read on ...

 

We are looking to launch FIVE unique series that will continue and develop the Buffyverse, and we're looking to the fan fiction community to do this.  So here are the details:

We want you to write a pilot screenplay for a brand new series based in the Buffyverse, using no more than six of your faviourite characters from Buffy & Angel.  The chosen series will be posted here with a view to continue for a six-episode first season; and possibly continuing into a second.  There are some rules, though.  So check them out and get submitting!

DON'T...

 

  • Use more than six characters from the Buffyverse unless in a 'guest star' capacity

 

  • Feature any cross-overs, created by Joss Whedon or otherwise - so this means no Firefly, Dollhouse, Supernatural, Grimm, etc.

 

  • Feel like you have to work solo.  You can bring a team together in your show's creation and/or in writing the pilot.  But please do provide us with the names of everyone involved

DO...

 

  • Write your work using the industry-standard screenplay format

 

  • Write for at least 40 pages, but no longer than 45 (excluding the title page)

 

  • Pick up your story following the finalés of both Buffy & Angel

  • Disregard anything from the Buffy Season 8, Season 9 & Angel & Faith comic book-related storylines and material, including any of the After The Fall titles

 

  • Use original stories! We don't want fleshed out, rehashed screenplay versions of yours, or anyone elses, fan fiction that has been published somewhere else on the Internet

 

  • Submit a two-three page treatment or synopsis for a six-episode Season 1

THE RULES

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • A show set in the Buffyverse that does not disregard what has come before but is original in its tone, story-telling and style

 

  • A good understanding of character’s voices

 

  • Original and exciting pieces of fan fiction
